About the position

The Manufacturing and Industrial Project Manager at PEC is responsible for leading multi-discipline design teams on medium to large manufacturing and industrial facility projects. This role focuses on ensuring project goals are met while engaging and informing all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, from planning and design to construction administration. The position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage risks and project performance to achieve successful outcomes for clients in various industries, including aerospace, consumer products, pharmaceuticals, and food and beverage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers, architects, and field services team members through project planning, design, and construction administration.
  • Ensure Quality Management System processes are being followed.
  • Make business decisions on projects from opportunity identification through completion with minimal guidance.
  • Identify, communicate, and manage project risks effectively.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules and staffing plans, manage scope, and control project costs.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement lessons learned.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with clients for all project-related activities.
  • Participate in business development activities, including RFP and RFQ responses and project interviews.

Requirements

  • Minimum of B.S. degree in an appropriate field of engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer's Licensure in Kansas or ability to obtain reciprocal licensure within six months.
  • Minimum ten years of multi-discipline project engineering design experience.
  • Minimum three years of Project Management experience on multi-discipline Engineering-Prime projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience in manufacturing or industrial projects.
  • Proficient in project management software, MS Office suite, and Bluebeam Revu.

  • Experience successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Understanding of the financial aspects of project management.
