About the position

The Manufacturing Coordinator - 2nd Shift at Eaton's Lincoln, IL facility is responsible for directing and managing production activities across various processes, including metal fabrication, plating, powder coating, and plastic molding. This role focuses on maintaining production schedules efficiently while ensuring high-quality standards and compliance with safety regulations. The position operates during the 2nd shift, from 2:30 PM to 11 PM or 3:30 PM to 12 AM, and is eligible for a variable incentive program.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize material flow through processes for effective utilization of machinery and employees.
  • Work with department personnel to maintain production levels to meet customer demand cost-effectively while ensuring high quality.
  • Assist in the selection, training, and development of production personnel and participate in their performance evaluation.
  • Address areas of concern with employees to promote excellent performance.
  • Complete daily reports for payroll and production reporting purposes.
  • Monitor inventory and scrap in the department.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and enforce all safety rules and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and keep all equipment in good operating condition.
  • Ensure all activities are within company policies and in line with union contracts.
  • Maintain good employee relations through effective communication efforts.
  • Keep the manufacturing manager informed of department activities.
  • Collaborate with employees and teams on process improvement, safety improvement, and cost reduction projects.
  • Support plant initiatives for continuous improvement such as Lean Manufacturing.
  • Maintain departmental budgets.
  • Ensure conformance to Environmental Management System requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • One (1) year of experience leading people.
  • Currently eligible to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must currently reside within a 50-mile radius of the working location.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements.
