About the position

As a Plant Financial Analyst at AUTOKINITON, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our financial operations and supporting our commitment to operational excellence. This position involves working closely with the Controller to implement systems process improvements and lead various financial analysis activities within the plant. You will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data related to plant performance, products, and processes, ensuring that we maintain high standards of financial integrity and operational efficiency. Your responsibilities will include preparing comprehensive financial statements and documents on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, as well as assisting in the preparation of the annual budget. You will lead the cost accounting process and manage capital expenditure requests, ensuring that all financial activities align with our strategic goals. Additionally, you will analyze customer pricing issues and coordinate corrective actions with the commercial team, while also overseeing fixed assets and depreciation processes. In this role, you will perform financial tracking and analysis for new programs, ensuring that quoted margins are adhered to. You will also be responsible for reviewing accounts receivable issues, approving memos for customer reductions, and supporting corporate accounts receivable and treasury functions. As a backup to the Controller, you will handle labor, scrap, and MRO spending approvals as necessary, and you will participate in special projects and root cause analysis activities to drive continuous improvement within the plant. This full-time, salary-exempt position is part of our Finance team and reports directly to the Controller. Responsibilities

  • Works with the Controller with systems process improvements and implementation of changes.
  • Leads projects and team assignments for general accounting and financial analysis activities in the plant.
  • Collects and analyzes plants, products and processes results and statistics.
  • Responsible for review and modification of internal controls.
  • Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements/documents and annual budget preparation.
  • Assists with financial bridge process and variance analysis.
  • Leads cost accounting process.
  • Prepares, reviews, and maintains capital expenditure requests.
  • Analyzes customer pricing issues and coordinates corrective action with commercial team.
  • Coordinates fixed assets and depreciated work.
  • Performs new program financial tracking and analysis and works with program finance to ensure quoted margins are adhered to.
  • Responsible for accounts receivable review of past due issues, approving memos of customer reductions, EDI issues and supports Corporate A/R and Treasury in cash application.
  • Acts as backup to Controller for labor, scrap and MRO spending and other approvals as necessary.
  • Responsible for special projects as assigned.
  • Participates in root cause analysis and team problem solving activities (ex. 8D reports, department meetings, etc.).
  • Assists with plant activities to achieve quality, productivity, and cost reduction goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years' experience in related financial, operational, or business analysis.
  • Understanding of financial systems, manufacturing systems, general ledger, standardized cost accounting, along with budgeting and forecasting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of QAD and One Stream is a plus (or similar integrated manufacturing system).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of financial and performance data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software - intermediate level.
