About the position

The Manufacturing Design/CAD Designer is responsible for the recommendation, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of CAD technology related to Case & Tray design engineering. This role involves developing training materials, leading the adoption of engineering CAD technology, and ensuring the integrity and efficiency of design processes across global teams. The designer will also support new product introductions and collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance design practices and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the adoption of engineering CAD technology and processes across the organization.
  • Create and maintain Case & Tray design engineering drawing templates and file directory structure.
  • Ensure the integrity of Case & Tray models, drawings, and programs.
  • Manage upgrades to file storage methods to enhance integrity and access speed.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for Case & Tray design engineering.
  • Serve as the global Siemens NX administrator, managing software licenses and upgrades.
  • Implement systemic design engineering changes to align with industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with design engineering leads to maintain procedures for new product releases.
  • Create and maintain training materials for Case & Tray Design Guidelines.
  • Drive automation and process efficiencies in design engineering and programming.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in an engineering-related field required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in design engineering, preferably in the case & tray medical device industry.
  • Senior level CNC design engineering experience with the ability to write computer language for Unigraphics required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to transfer knowledge and train others effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence others.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the case & tray medical device industry.
  • Familiarity with CADLink and Siemens Teamcenter software.
