About the position

OSG USA, INC. is a leading manufacturer of taps, endmills, drills, and indexable cutting tools. OSG also serves the fastener industry by offering a complete line of thread rolling, flat, cylindrical, planetary, rack, and trim dies. The company markets its products to numerous industries, including automotive, die mold, aerospace, energy, heavy industry, and dental. The District Sales Engineer leverages their experience in the CNC machining industry to provide targeted cutting tool and application solutions at key accounts and targeted industrial segments. Responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with key customers and collaborating with the sales team and other internal departments to ensure customer satisfaction. The District Sales Engineer will support strategic sales initiatives to drive revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow sales within the designated district, focusing on key accounts, strategic industrial segments, and individual customer relationships to achieve district revenue targets
  • Track and report on sales metrics and progress toward targets
  • Collaborate with sales management to implement strategic sales plans to achieve district-level revenue goals
  • Provide technical expertise on cutting tool products and applications
  • Take the engineering lead on complex sales and strategic accounts/opportunities
  • Mentor and guide junior technical sales team members
  • Act as a liaison between the sales team and product development/engineering teams
  • Develop and deliver technical training sessions for internal teams and customers
  • Assist in the development of customized cutting tool solutions for customers
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address technical inquiries and provide solutions
  • Collaborate with the engineering and sales teams to customize solutions based on client needs
  • Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activities to identify business opportunities
  • Conduct in-depth product demonstrations and presentations for customers
  • Work closely with customers to understand their specific needs and challenges
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers within the assigned territory
  • Provide technical support to customers during the sales process
  • Stay informed about advancements in CNC machining technology
  • Track and report on sales metrics and progress toward targets
  • Execute sales strategies developed by senior team members
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with customers
  • Participate in industry events and trade shows to enhance brand visibility
  • Collaborate with marketing to create effective promotional materials and campaigns
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the sales team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture
  • Collaborate with regional and national sales leaders to align strategies
  • Other relevant duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing/Industrial/Machine Technology or similar technical degree
  • 3-4 years of experience in Technical sales, with a focus on CNC machining
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and cutting tool application
  • Excellent CNC programming skills
  • Proven track record of successful sales performance and customer relationship management
  • Leadership skills and the ability to mentor and guide
  • Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel by air and overnight between 25-50% of the time, including entertaining customers
  • Must live in the designated district
  • Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operator's license and pass annual MVR standards
