As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for providing timely resolutions to manufacturing process and product design problems. This includes conducting investigations, performing statistical studies, and planning corrective actions. You will create cost-effective and safe manufacturing processes, equipment, and tools to enhance manufacturing operations. Additionally, you will design manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, and station controls that optimize efficiency, reduce operating costs, and improve product quality. Your role will also involve upholding manufacturing standards, which encompass machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings, and cycle times. You will generate work instructions, job breakdowns, and standardized work to ensure that quality at the source meets product and manufacturing specifications tailored to local needs. Furthermore, you will serve as the voice of the customer, providing input for new design development, and partner with on-site EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) to ensure compliance with safety regulations set by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems, including investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning.
  • Create cost-effective and safe manufacturing processes, equipment, and tools to improve manufacturing operations.
  • Design manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, and station controls that optimize efficiency, operating costs, and product quality.
  • Uphold manufacturing standards including machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings, and cycle times.
  • Generate work instructions, job breakdowns, and standardized work to ensure quality at the source meets product and manufacturing specifications given local needs.
  • Serve as a voice of the customer for input for new design development.
  • Partner with on-site EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Degree preferred in Engineering or related technical disciplines; minimum of high school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to accurately assess manufacturing issues related to process and design.
  • Effective communication at multiple levels coupled with ability to build relationships.
  • Growth mindset - desire to expand technical skillset.
  • Results-driven to maintain accountability and customer-focus.
  • PFMEA experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) is preferred.
