About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer at Hendrickson will play a crucial role in managing projects that focus on the design, procurement, and implementation of tooling and fabrication equipment. This position requires a strong commitment to ensuring that all project requirements are met while adhering to cost, timing, and budgetary targets. The engineer will assist in developing the capital budget and will lead continuous improvement project teams and Kaizen events aimed at enhancing various manufacturing processes and optimizing plant layout. In addition to project management, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for implementing and sustaining 5S work cell improvements throughout the facility. This includes leading the coordination of sample builds for new tooling and processes, improving ergonomics, and executing safety-related improvement projects within the facility. The engineer will also be tasked with updating facility layouts as necessary and evaluating existing processes and technologies to identify opportunities for cost and quality improvements. Support for the maintenance department will be a key aspect of this role, providing technical advice on equipment and offering Tier 1 manufacturing support to the shop floor for equipment and processes. The engineer will participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) teams to review product designs, investigate potential manufacturing issues, and propose solutions prior to production launch. Additionally, the role involves processing manufacturing engineering tasks for engineering change requests, performing time studies for processes, and creating process sequences of events and work instructions as required.
