About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer II will develop lean manufacturing processes, provide technical support to all functional departments, lead development projects, and offer guidance to team members. They shall work collaboratively with internal and external customers to provide technical solutions while effectively managing process, policy, and strategy changes. This role is crucial in ensuring that manufacturing processes are efficient, compliant with customer requirements, and aligned with the company's strategic goals. The engineer will be responsible for interpreting and validating manufacturing processes and documentation in accordance with required specifications, ensuring that all operations meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. In addition to developing product configurations and methods utilizing the company ERP system (Epicor), the Manufacturing Engineer II will lead design reviews to ensure manufacturability and compliance with customer requirements. They will communicate and interpret requirements with vendors and customers, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and execute cost and cycle-time reduction initiatives. The role also involves conceptualizing and creating fixtures to support manufacturing using 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor) and creating assembly and test procedures for complex electro-mechanical assemblies. The engineer will process engineering change orders and lead the implementation process, track and update cycle times in the ERP system, and provide technical guidance to all functional departments as required. They will ensure conformance to ISO procedures and FMI established protocols, acting as a technical liaison with customers as assigned by management. The role may also involve leading complex projects to support company directives and performing additional related duties as assigned. A strong understanding of safety work processes and compliance with environmental, health, and safety laws is essential for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop product configurations and methods utilizing company ERP system (Epicor)
  • Interpret and validate manufacturing processes and documentation in accordance with required specifications
  • Lead design reviews to ensure that parts can be manufactured efficiently and in compliance with customer requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Engineering
  • 5-7 years of experience in the precision manufacturing industry
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Computer literacy including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & CAD software
  • Organizational, analytical, and planning skills
  • Aptitude to organize and manage complex projects
  • Ability to create and present presentations to large groups of people
  • Experience developing and documenting processes for electromechanical assemblies in a cleanroom environment
  • Knowledge of complex machining processes and equipment (mill, lathe, screw machine, etc.)
  • In depth understanding of secondary processes such as welding, brazing, anodizing, and precision cleaning
  • Experience developing and coordinating failure analysis test plans (destructive and non-destructive)
  • Proficiency in testing techniques such as helium leak testing, rate of rise testing, hydrostatic leak testing, and particle count testing
