About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer position at Roth Staffing is focused on the 2nd shift for a medical technologies firm. The primary responsibility of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to address challenges related to industrial layout and manufacturing production. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering concepts, as well as the ability to create engineering drawings and interpret blueprints effectively. The manufacturing engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing production efficiency and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process. In this position, the engineer will study various factors such as time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance and production operations. This analysis is essential for establishing standard production rates and identifying areas for improvement. The engineer will also be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings and schematic diagrams, collaborating with management and engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. Additionally, the role involves reviewing worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets to ensure compliance with quality assurance specifications. The manufacturing engineer will aid in planning work assignments based on worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays. They will prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization, which are vital for optimizing production processes and enhancing overall operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.
  • Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • 2-4 years experience required.
  • Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
  • Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Team player and detail oriented.
