About the position

As a Manufacturing Engineer at AUTOKINITON, you will play a crucial role in driving operational excellence and high-quality execution within our manufacturing processes. This position is part of our Engineering team and will report directly to the Engineering Manager. You will be responsible for understanding, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement skills into daily work habits, consistently seeking areas for enhancement. Your role will involve collaborating with Maintenance and Die tooling in a team-driven environment to meet the goals of the plant and the company. You will coordinate the manufacturing launch of new or revised products, establishing goals, rates, and flow based on lean concepts. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and testing various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods. You will perform product and process analysis aimed at cost reduction, quality improvement, and enhanced efficiency. Additionally, you will prepare quotations that include layout concepts, processing, and costs, and initiate new tooling purchase requests along with budget summaries and supplier quotes for submission and approval. Your role will also require you to follow equipment progress at suppliers' facilities as needed for new equipment, participate in and drive cross-functional equipment design reviews, and maintain new project program books, including Gantt charts, build schedules, and cost tracking. You will support new model launches and improvement teams, perform research, design, and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment. Furthermore, you will prepare and maintain detailed layouts of the plant and machines, ensuring that lists of perishables are provided to Maintenance, Tool Room, and Purchasing for new equipment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; and/or five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, processes, and methodologies.
  • Preferred experience in CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Effective email and electronic communication skills.
