About the position

New Balance’s Manufacturing Engineer will create, build and execute Domestic Manufacturing Engineering Improvement strategies that will drive New Balance to be a Top 3 Global Athletic Brand. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will plan, design and direct manufacturing processes to improve safety and quality, maximize efficiencies, and eliminate waste.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of new or revised product development for color-ups and material-ups including involvement in the design review process, evaluating manufacturability of the product, and overseeing product trials
  • Identifies opportunities and leads projects to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Leads and participates in validation of new equipment
  • Develops and is the primary owner for all process documentation, including: cost, standard work, work instructions, troubleshooting guides, layouts
  • Increase manufacturing performance by identifying and implementing improvements to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Support Lean initiatives and model the use of lean principles and tools

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and lead change initiatives and role model the NB Leadership Competencies consistently
  • Strategic project planning, analytical and technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; highly PC literate with a focus on MS Office; CAD; Project Management and Control Charts
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with modern manufacturing techniques and equipment
  • Formal training in Lean, Six Sigma, or Toyota Production System with demonstrated success leading and implementing improvement projects and managing change
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred; must be conversational in Spanish and fluent in English
