About the position
Crown Food North America is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Front End) to support operations for the Food Division. This role involves providing expertise in the Front End of manufacturing processes, focusing on equipment such as cuppers, body makers, and trimmers. The engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes while ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
- Identify areas of spoilage and make suggestions for corrective action to resolve the issues.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on equipment operation and troubleshooting.
- Reinforce all safety procedures.
Requirements
- Seven (7) + years' experience in the Front End of a high-speed Beverage or Food metal packaging facility.
- Must believe in the team approach to solving problems and must have proven success in coaching & leading teams to resolve specific problems.
- Demonstrated employee relations skills and the ability to motivate people.
- Experience developing, building and maintaining strong business partnerships.
- Strong relationship management, interpersonal, listening and communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing operation.
- Effective communicator in both written and verbal correspondence as well as an effective presenter.
Nice-to-haves
- Working knowledge of principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations including SPC, Six Sigma, 5S, SMED and Lean Manufacturing.
- Six Sigma certification in Green Belt or beyond.
