In this position, the Manufacturing Engineer will oversee capital projects from conception to completion, utilizing the request for capital expenditure (RCE) process. The engineer will also analyze production metrics, evaluate root causes of issues, and recommend actions to minimize downtimes on production lines. A significant aspect of the role involves providing a centralized, strategic overview of equipment performance, including downtime analysis, material/component failure analysis, and changeover processes. The engineer will facilitate root cause analysis for equipment downtime, ensuring that the production environment remains optimal for manufacturing Abbott's renowned nutrition products, such as Similac®, PediaSure®, Pedialyte®, Ensure®, and Glucerna®. Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead preventative and predictive maintenance programs to promote safe and efficient operations.
  • Oversee capital projects from conception to completion using the request for capital expenditure (RCE) process.
  • Analyze production metrics and evaluate root causes to suggest actions that reduce downtimes on production lines.
  • Provide a centralized strategic overview of equipment performance, including downtime and material/component failure analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or equivalent technical experience with 3-5 years of significant engineering and/or operational experience.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong technical and leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Internship experience in a related field.
  • Electrical Engineering degree.
