The Manufacturing Engineer Co-op role is designed for students enrolled in an accredited engineering program, specifically targeting those in their sophomore year or above. This position will provide hands-on experience in designing and developing production lines for new products and process improvements. The Co-op will support current product lines and new product development, utilizing Creopre to design and document new products and tooling. The role involves planning, scheduling, conducting, or coordinating detailed phases of engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope or several smaller projects. The Co-op will perform work that involves conventional engineering practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design/process, quality, and customer requirements. The individual will work with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve design, manufacturing, and quality issues. Evaluations and tests will be performed to understand and improve products or manufacturing processes. The Co-op will also develop designs, cost estimates, manufacturing processes, and coordinate integration, as well as create and coordinate Bills of Material (BOM), mechanical assembly drawings, component drawings, and all other engineering documents required to support product line upgrades. Additionally, the role includes processing and coordinating engineering changes and product documentation in a timely manner, as well as supporting MRP (materials requirements planning) for managing inventory.
