The Manufacturing Engineer at Saint-Gobain plays a crucial role in ensuring the long-term reliability of plant processes. This position is responsible for providing technical support and leading engineering activities and projects aimed at optimizing equipment, processes, and workflows to operate safely and efficiently. The Manufacturing Engineer will also act as a Quality Champion, ensuring that the site and its employees comply with all customer requirements. This involves developing and maintaining Bill of Materials (BOM) and routings for accurate costing and scheduling, as well as managing quote requests to provide accurate costs to the Project Management and Customer Solutions teams. In addition to these responsibilities, the Manufacturing Engineer will develop and maintain standard operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and work instructions. They will design, develop, and revise process systems and work area layouts in a safe and cost-effective manner. The role also includes supporting maintenance and production personnel in resolving process and product variations, as well as equipment failures, using problem-solving and corrective action techniques. The Manufacturing Engineer will collect, interpret, and extrapolate data from production processes to monitor current equipment performance against established baselines and apply appropriate corrective actions as needed. Furthermore, the position may involve assisting in new product development as required. The role may require travel up to 10% for training or collaboration with sister plants on shared projects.
