About the position

Amazon Web Services' Hardware Engineering team is seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers to contribute to the development of the world's leading cloud computing platform. In this role, you will operate in a dynamic, fast-paced, and multi-platform international manufacturing and production environment. Your primary responsibilities will include collaborating closely with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), Contract Manufacturers (CMs), internal AWS hardware and software development teams, and upstream component vendors. You will be tasked with designing, scaling up, and continuously optimizing manufacturing processes by applying lean manufacturing principles and incorporating Design for Excellence (DFX) feedback into hardware design. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of incoming hardware for AWS products by monitoring, reporting, and investigating any manufacturing and early-life product failures. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will serve as a technical contact, taking full ownership of manufacturing process issues. You will be a driving force in identifying the root causes of hardware failures and addressing gaps in our suppliers' manufacturing processes. This position is integral to AWS Infrastructure Services, which is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. Our team ensures that AWS data centers and all associated servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment operate seamlessly, providing our customers with continuous access to the innovations they rely on. You will join a diverse team of professionals, including software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Collaboration across AWS is essential to deliver the highest standards of safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. We foster an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to take ownership of your projects from inception to completion. At AWS, we value diverse experiences and encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply, even if they do not meet all preferred qualifications. We prioritize work-life harmony, ensuring that success at work does not come at the expense of personal sacrifices.
