About the position

Amazon Web Services' Hardware Engineering team is seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers to contribute to the development of the world's leading cloud computing platform. In this role, you will operate within a dynamic, fast-paced, and multi-platform international manufacturing and production environment. Your primary responsibilities will include collaborating closely with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), Contract Manufacturers (CMs), and internal AWS hardware and software development teams, as well as upstream component vendors. You will be tasked with designing, scaling up, and continuously optimizing manufacturing processes by applying lean manufacturing principles and incorporating Design for Excellence (DFX) feedback into hardware design. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of incoming hardware for AWS products by monitoring, reporting, and investigating any manufacturing issues and early-life product failures. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will serve as a technical contact, taking full ownership of manufacturing process challenges and driving efforts to understand the root causes of hardware failures and deficiencies in supplier manufacturing processes. Your work will directly impact the AWS Infrastructure Services, which is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This includes supporting all AWS data centers and ensuring the reliability of servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that provide customers with uninterrupted access to essential innovations. You will join a diverse team comprising software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other critical roles. Collaboration across AWS will be key to delivering the highest standards of safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. AWS fosters an inclusive culture that encourages bold ideas and empowers team members to see their initiatives through to completion. At AWS, we value diverse experiences and encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply, even if they do not meet all preferred qualifications. We prioritize work-life harmony, ensuring that success at work does not come at the expense of personal life. Our culture promotes flexibility, allowing employees to feel supported both at work and at home. We are committed to continuous learning and curiosity, with employee-led affinity groups that promote inclusion and celebrate diversity. Ongoing events and learning experiences, such as our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences, inspire us to embrace our uniqueness and strive for excellence in our roles.
