About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer I position within the Fluid Systems Division is a critical role that focuses on the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes for fluid systems. This position is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing operations run smoothly and efficiently, while also adhering to quality standards and safety regulations. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, quality assurance, and production personnel, to implement process improvements and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production. In this role, the Manufacturing Engineer I will be involved in the analysis of manufacturing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and developing solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs. This may include the use of lean manufacturing principles, statistical process control, and other engineering methodologies. The engineer will also be responsible for documenting processes, creating work instructions, and training production staff on new procedures. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer I will participate in the development of new products, providing input on manufacturability and cost-effectiveness during the design phase. The engineer will also be expected to stay current with industry trends and advancements in manufacturing technology, ensuring that the Fluid Systems Division remains competitive in the market.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of fluid systems and related technologies.
  • Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment.
