About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer, I at Zebra Technologies is responsible for designing, developing, analyzing, and implementing manufacturing processes, along with providing support for fixtures and tooling. This role involves close collaboration with various teams to develop effective manufacturing capacity plans and execute them as part of the overall manufacturing strategy. The position offers opportunities for future advancement into leadership roles within Technical operations, focusing on the development, automation, optimization, and innovation of manufacturing strategies and solutions for a wide range of products.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and tests on a variety of less complex manufacturing assignments that constitute a portion of a larger project.
  • Learns to develop and test documentation which describes the specific manufacturing functionality.
  • Develop into Primary contact for cross functional requests related to manufacturing operations & capacity with Supply chain planning teams.
  • Participates and provides some input in project reviews.
  • Participate in critical projects to improve Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier delivery performance.
  • Learn and develop an oversight for capacity planning and manufacturing delivery execution aligning to forecast changes and business needs.
  • Reviews test results and perform root cause analyses to identify problems.
  • Provides recommendations and implements solutions to less complex issues, ensuring compliance with quality process and standards.
  • Makes changes to or upgrades existing mechanical designs of products and/or repair fixtures.
  • Enhances and improves existing technologies to apply to new solutions.
  • Makes and implements recommendations to immediate team to enhance performance and improve productivity.
  • Provides financial analysis and ROI calculations for various engineering projects.
  • Partners with various cross-functional organizations including Product Operations, Sourcing and Procurement, Planning, Fulfillment, Technology and Quality to drive shared outcomes.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Receives detailed instructions on routine work, new projects, or assignments.
  • May provide guidance to non-exempt personnel.
  • May lead small size projects.
  • Builds productive working relationships internally and externally.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
