At Lucid, we are committed to leading the future of luxury electric vehicles, and as a Manufacturing Engineer II in General Assembly, you will play a crucial role in this mission. This position involves engaging with the complete product and process lifecycle, from concept to large-scale manufacturing. You will collaborate closely with design engineering to develop the necessary manufacturing equipment, conveyors, tools, and fixtures required for full production, all while considering Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and quality of our manufacturing processes, ensuring that our vehicles not only meet but exceed the expectations of our customers. In this role, you will interface with design engineering to assess product designs for manufacturing feasibility in General Assembly. You will provide detailed assessments and critical DFM reviews of product, process, and tooling designs. Your responsibilities will include taking products from concept to design, prototype, and finally to manufacturing. You will translate high-level assembly goals and strategies into actionable design change requests, develop and implement dimensional control strategies, and conduct Virtual Build events to review assembly processes and requirements. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing process documentation, completing PFMEAs, and creating Quality Control Plans. Implementing Lean Manufacturing and error-proofing strategies will be key to your success, as will validating load paths, tool access, and ergonomics. You will also conduct GA impact/cost studies for design changes and assess in-house manufacturing capabilities, implementing new processes and equipment where justifiable. Your leadership will guide cross-functional teams and manufacturing engineers in enhancing manufacturing processes and capabilities, while mentoring others to improve overall team skills. Your ability to communicate effectively and provide detailed engineering rationale to the executive team will be essential in driving manufacturing decisions.
