About the position

The Process Engineering position at Elbit Systems of America focuses on the manufacturing of Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) photocathode structures. The role is essential for optimizing manufacturing processes, reducing defects, and enhancing the performance of image intensifiers. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to address safety, quality, and productivity challenges while conducting failure analyses to implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Optimizing manufacturing processes and equipment to reduce defects in the growth structures.
  • Managing process improvement, defect analysis, and technician training in collaboration with the Operations group.
  • Working in cross-functional teams to minimize or eliminate safety, quality, delivery, and productivity problems.
  • Conducting failure analysis of components to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Increasing image intensifier performance as part of a cross-functional team.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance.
  • BS in Chemical, Mechanical or Materials Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of technical experience or academic research in thin film deposition or related field.
  • Effective analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis techniques and SPC.
  • Proficiency with designing structured experimentation.
  • Ability to work and collaborate well with others with a range of technical capabilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Aixtron deposition systems.
  • Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience writing complex MS Access queries.
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis software such as Minitab, JMP, SAS.
  • Ability to collaborate with all facets of the Night Vision organization.
  • Comfortable with self-initiating business and professional improvements.
