About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer II (Safety) at Lozier Corporation plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient manufacturing of store fixtures. This position is designed for a problem-solver and innovator who will facilitate change and manage projects within the manufacturing environment. The engineer will be responsible for evaluating needs, analyzing options, and developing plans to implement projects that align with the company's mission and core values. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and resolving production issues, ensuring that all processes are optimized for safety and quality. In this position, the Manufacturing Engineer II will oversee small to medium-sized projects that may have less clearly defined goals. The engineer will be tasked with developing Appropriation Requests (AR) and managing the implementation of projects within specified time frames. Additionally, the engineer will assist and guide support personnel, including technicians and maintenance staff, in technical matters, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their roles effectively. The role also involves developing, installing, and maintaining processes that ensure the safe manufacture of quality products. This includes creating procedures and providing training on new processes, tools, and equipment. The engineer will be responsible for defining preventative and predictive maintenance requirements and conducting mechanical evaluations of processes and equipment as needed. Furthermore, the engineer will coordinate corrections to production problems using sound engineering techniques and will be expected to develop alternate methods to ensure continued production during emergencies.

  • Responsible for the successful completion of small to medium-sized projects of medium complexity with less clearly defined goals and concise project progress reports.
  • Evaluates need, analyzes options, develops plan, develops Appropriation Request (AR) and manages implementation of project until completed within the allotted time frame.
  • Assists and guides support personnel (Technicians, Maintenance, Tool and Die, etc.) in technical matters as needed.
  • Develops, installs and maintains optimum processes for the safe manufacture of quality product in a productive manner.
  • Develops procedures and provides training on new processes, tools and equipment, including defining Preventative and Predictive Maintenance requirements and mechanical evaluation of processes and equipment.
  • Coordinates successful corrections to production problems using sound manufacturing engineering problem-solving techniques and practices.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or another related field; Mechanical engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of applicable engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Good written and oral communications.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop plans for accomplishing assigned work and set priorities with a proper sense of urgency.
  • Ability to make timely decisions.
  • Average to above average PC Skills.
