As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will take on more complex responsibilities in optimizing processes and supporting new product development initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, defining, and implementing design for manufacturing principles on new and current product initiatives.
  • Defining equipment, tooling, and fixturing scope leading internal and/or external suppliers to ensure success on new and current product.
  • Addressing product and process design gaps through Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs), Deviations (DEVs), and Process Change Notifications (PCNs) to promote quality, continuous improvement, and countermeasures.
  • Efficiently analyzing current state and utilizing PDCA problem-solving to drive zone improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of Lean manufacturing strategies to improve efficiency and flow in the zone.
  • Facilitating process improvement teams by analyzing data implementing solutions and updating documentation to eliminate non-value-added processes.
  • Defining critical project criteria and plans to recommend process improvements with payback justifications.
  • Defining, developing, and implementing critical quality controls using PFMEA thinking and verification techniques to support current and new product development (NPD).
  • Actively participating in the new product development process representing assembly as a core team member.
  • Ensuring product and process designs promote a sustainable quality output within a safe working environment that meets delivery expectations.
  • Collaborating with assembly team to create and maintain simple, effective standards.
  • Assisting technicians with setup, modification, programming, and validation of process equipment and production cells to support current and new product, along with daily manufacturing support to zones of responsibility.
  • Ensuring product flow and production paperwork meets or exceeds requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to use data to drive decisions.
  • Comfortable reviewing drawings and troubleshooting parts and processes.
  • Ability to collaborate with design teams to ensure manufacturability.
  • Experience in both operations and new product development (NPD).
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and support the shop floor.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing strategies.
  • Familiarity with PFMEA thinking and verification techniques.
