About the position

As a Manufacturing Engineer II at PDS Tech, you will play a crucial role in the Aerospace manufacturing sector by designing and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure peak product performance. This position is a full-time contract role based in Goleta, California, and operates on a 9/80 schedule, allowing for every other Friday off. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include designing sequences of operations, specifying procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment, and adapting machine and equipment designs to meet factory and production conditions. Your expertise will be essential in incorporating inspection and test requirements into the production plan, ensuring that all machinery, equipment, and tools are operating efficiently, and investigating any issues or deficiencies that arise during production. In this role, you will also develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and provide guidance to engineering teams regarding design concepts and specification requirements. Compliance with regulations is a key aspect of your responsibilities, ensuring that all processes and procedures meet industry standards. Responsibilities

  • Design sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment.
  • Adapt machine and equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Inspect machinery, equipment, and tools to ensure they are operating efficiently.
  • Investigate any issues or deficiencies and take corrective actions to ensure product quality.
  • Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control.
  • Provide guidance to Engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical (electrical/mechanical) manufacturing engineering experience.
