About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer II at PacSci EMC is responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes and procedures to ensure products are produced according to design specifications. This role involves reviewing product designs, creating work instructions, conducting process audits, and utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. The engineer will also participate in design reviews, develop capital equipment specifications, and support production readiness plans.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret product design drawings to develop work instructions and process procedures.
  • Develop process routings and labor standards for cost estimating and scheduling.
  • Prepare labor, material, tooling, and equipment cost estimates for proposals.
  • Implement production process layouts and readiness plans.
  • Develop capital equipment specifications and support installation and start-up.
  • Design tooling and fixturing for production and inspection.
  • Implement statistical process control and conduct capability studies.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure manufacturability.
  • Conduct process audits and time studies for optimization.
  • Conduct periodic Kaizen events.
  • Create MPs, DCNs, and SWIs for new and sustaining products.
  • Develop PHA (process hazard analysis) for required processes in production.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen processes to improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • SolidWorks / AutoCAD experience required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fixture design and fabrication experience.
  • MES implementation experience.
  • Minimum of three years in a manufacturing environment.
