Full-time - Mid Level
Transportation Equipment Manufacturing

About the position

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable space flight. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight. You will be responsible for developing and supporting the Lunar Lander assembly processes, ensuring that all components are built to the highest standards of quality and safety. You will create build and flow documents, identify tooling needs required for production, create manufacturing BOMs, and author work instructions. Your role will also involve performing engineering drawing reviews and providing final approval for manufacturing, ensuring build readiness, and providing shipside/lineside support while working directly with flight hardware. Additionally, you will participate in anomaly investigations, root cause/corrective action analyses, and the development and implementation of recovery plans. You will be responsible for non-conformance report (NCR) generation, management, and closure, ensuring that all processes are compliant with industry quality systems such as AS9100. This position requires a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, as well as the ability to mentor less experienced engineers. You will work cooperatively with teams of diverse skills across large geographic distances, earning trust and maintaining positive professional relationships. Your commitment to quality and safety will be essential in supporting Blue Origin's mission of enabling safe human spaceflight and lowering the cost of access to space.
