About The Position

As a member of the Wabtec Bus Solutions Manufacturing Engineering Team, you will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the manufacturing processes in a vertically integrated industrial plant environment. You will develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes and cellular layout to improve safety, cycle times, and employee ergonomics. This role involves reviewing and analyzing space requirements and workflow, designing layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency, and ensuring effective standardization of lean methodologies. You will lead a manufacturing cell team on new product development and launch, train technical as well as non-technical associates, and assist others through moderate to complex tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Mechanical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering.
  • 8 years’ minimum experience within a manufacturing industry that does assembly, machining, and/or fabrication.
  • 2 years’ minimum experience of Project leadership.
  • 3D Cad design experience.
  • Good communication skills (written and oral).
  • Experience in leading and coaching through Lean transformations.
  • Strong analytical skills, knowledge and experience in process evaluation tools: statistical data analysis, risk analysis, flow layout and other related engineering tools.
  • Good working knowledge of entire manufacturing processes including part finishing.
  • Trained in Value Stream Mapping, Process Mapping, & PFMEA.
  • Willingness to work hands on with equipment and manufacturing staff.
  • Evaluate new technologies for consideration and adoption within our manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing Certifications.
  • Assembly torque tool experience.
  • Digital work instruction platform experience.
  • Capital expenditure planning and request experience.
