Trane Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III to join our team in Hastings, Nebraska. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing manufacturing processes and systems that meet and exceed quality, cost, and schedule requirements within our manufacturing organization. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our manufacturing capabilities by implementing innovative solutions that improve productivity and efficiency. Your work will directly impact our ability to deliver high-quality products to our customers while maintaining cost-effectiveness and operational excellence. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will engage in various activities, including the design and implementation of process automation, both hardware and software, aimed at improving productivity, quality, equipment performance, energy consumption, and reducing downtime. You will also be involved in new product introductions and product enhancement programs, utilizing advanced engineering techniques such as Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM/DFA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and implementing innovative and cost-effective manufacturing processes and techniques that enhance the effectiveness of our operations. You will develop manufacturing planning, initial tooling requirements, capability requirements, control plans, and assessments to define and specify manufacturing processes. Additionally, you will optimize manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, and organization to ensure value-added operations and high product/process quality. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with various functional team members to enhance design for manufacturability and ease of integration into our manufacturing facility. You will provide technical expertise and leadership to resolve manufacturing process and product design issues, serving as a resource for cause/effect analyses, investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning.
