About the position

The primary purpose of this position is to apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices across a broad range of assignments and related fields. The role is crucial in ensuring that both internal and external customers' expectations are met or exceeded. Adherence to Integer's Values and compliance with all safety, environmental, security, and quality requirements is essential. This includes, but is not limited to, the Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, and other regulatory requirements. In this position, you will be responsible for developing new and unique approaches to challenging problems and working on projects that advance Integer's technological capabilities. You will investigate and interpret internal or external technology and business trends, recommending best practices to the organization. Your role will involve evaluating, developing, and implementing a wide range of new technologies of moderate scope and complexity. You may also identify and procure new equipment and technology that are of moderate complexity, scope, and cost. You will originate new documents such as protocols, reports, specifications, and work instructions, and may review documentation work products of peers and others. Planning and developing engineering projects that address unique problems or team challenges, which have a significant impact on moderate to large programs, will be part of your responsibilities. You may lead cross-functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and complexity, while beginning to develop the skills necessary to influence others to achieve goals. Building and maintaining relationships with individuals and business units within your site or organization is key. You will be proficient in specialty areas or technologies and are expected to build advanced skills to become a subject matter expert. This may require occasional travel. You will embed Quality within the Engineering discipline, taking ownership of Quality and ensuring adherence to the QMS, facilitating corrective and preventive actions, and contributing to the successful attainment of quality KPIs and the journey to 5 Sigma. Additionally, you will support Integer's Manufacturing Excellence and Market Focused Innovation Strategies, championing the development and deployment of systems and tools to drive innovation and continuous improvement. You will embrace the Manufacturing Excellence culture based on the Integer Production System, focusing on strategy alignment, sustained change leadership, standardization, associate engagement, and systems and process optimization. Your performance will be measured against specific goals and objectives, including safety, quality, and innovation metrics, with an emphasis on generating continuous improvement suggestions and supporting their implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related technical field; Master's Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive engineering experience; 10+ years of relevant experience may substitute for education.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving foundation.
  • Training and certifications in problem-solving and project management methodologies (e.g., 6-Sigma, PMP).
  • Ability to observe, analyze, and develop solutions to technical issues.
  • Experience in leading team activities and coaching less experienced associates.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in a high-energy environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Black belt certification in 6-Sigma preferred.
  • Experience with various problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, RCA, 5-Why, Ishikawa, and Kepner-Tregoe.
