As a manufacturing engineer at SNC, you will be part of multidisciplinary teams that collaborate to bring innovative products and services to fruition, furthering our customers' mission objectives. Your role will involve researching, designing, developing, testing, certifying, deploying, and improving cutting-edge products and services that span a wide range of applications, from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems to highly integrated aircraft and space exploration systems. You will work closely with program management, design engineers, quality assurance, and production teams to develop efficient and cost-effective production methods while maintaining the highest quality standards. Your technical responsibilities will include reviewing engineering designs for manufacturability, developing tooling and fixtures, creating work instructions, and establishing production processes and procedures. You will apply manufacturing technologies and industry best practices throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring that our products meet the rigorous demands of the aerospace and defense sectors. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in this field, providing end-to-end C4ISR capabilities that consistently exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy, and improve cutting-edge products and services.
  • Consult with program management, design engineers, quality, and production teams to develop efficient production methods.
  • Review engineering designs for manufacturability and develop tooling and fixtures.
  • Create work instructions and establish production processes and procedures.
  • Apply manufacturing technologies and industry best practices throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in a related discipline.
  • Typically 6 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
  • Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Capability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
  • Knowledge of industry standard design principles, including parametric design and model-based definition.
  • Experience with work instruction/traveler development.
  • Participation in Non-Conformance generation through a Material Review Board (MRB).
  • Experience with new product introduction and transition to production.
  • Exposure to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems.
