About the position

As a Manufacturing Engineer at LPC, you will be an integral part of a dynamic technical team dedicated to enhancing manufacturing safety, compliance, efficiency, and productivity within a manufacturing plant environment. Your role will involve applying engineering principles to address technical challenges while researching and implementing innovative and cost-effective solutions aimed at improving safety, compliance, quality, and delivery. A significant aspect of your responsibilities will be to drive positive organizational change through the execution of capital improvements related to machinery and equipment. Your primary duties will encompass planning, developing, evaluating, and conducting current state analyses, as well as leading the implementation of technical projects that align with future state objectives. You will be tasked with problem-solving, which includes researching, selecting, and implementing solutions to a variety of engineering problems using logic, analysis, and your engineering expertise. This will involve gathering and analyzing data to develop engineered solutions to complex issues. Effective communication will be crucial in your role, as you will collaborate with various levels of the organization, including production employees, maintenance personnel, suppliers, peers, supervisors, subject matter experts, and plant leadership. You will have opportunities to present root cause analyses, project information, and project status updates to different members of leadership, ensuring that you act with integrity while working with both PCC suppliers and internal stakeholders. In terms of leadership and teamwork, you will work within and lead small teams, providing technical support to manufacturing and maintenance teams. You will also be responsible for successfully managing project budgets and schedules, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. While you will receive general guidance on tasks and project work, you will have access to the necessary tools, resources, and experienced engineers to help you achieve your objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, evaluate, and conduct current state analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (minimum requirement).
  • Prefer BS-Mechanical Engineering or BS-Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in engineering related work (preferred).
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to real-world plant and manufacturing issues.
  • Flexible with the ability to handle multiple assignments and shifting priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal effectiveness; contribute to the team.
  • Follow-through: work projects from concept to development to implementation to start-up.
  • Objectivity and integrity in the evaluation of problems and execution of solutions.
  • Willingness and desire to be inquisitive, to explore, investigate and learn.
  • Act with a sense of urgency and ownership.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of equipment design and engineering.
