About the position

Leidos Dynetics is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join a diverse team dedicated to creating unique solutions for complex problems. This position is based in Huntsville, AL, and the Manufacturing Engineering Manager will report directly to the Site Leader, overseeing multiple programs that range from prototypes to more mature programs transitioning toward full-rate production. The role requires agility, flexibility, and creativity to successfully navigate the challenges of simultaneous engineering and production, ensuring that the team can effectively support our nation's war fighters. As part of the site leadership team, the Manufacturing Engineering Manager will collaborate closely with various departments, particularly Design Engineering, to maintain awareness of expected engineering changes. The manager will be responsible for planning and maintaining production flow through the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system, which includes managing change and making buy/designation decisions. Additionally, the role involves creating and maintaining work instructions using Solumina software and ensuring a smooth transition of the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) to the Material Planning team. The manager will also support concurrent engineering on new designs with the design agent at an off-site location, which will require some travel. Maintaining department performance metrics will be a critical aspect of this position, ensuring that the team meets its operational goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain staff at skill level to support all programs.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to maintain awareness of expected engineering changes.
  • Plan and maintain production flow through MRP system, including change management and make/buy designation.
  • Create and maintain work instructions using Solumina software.
  • Ensure smooth transition of MBOM to Material Planning team.
  • Support concurrent engineering on new designs with Design agent at off-site location (travel).
  • Maintain department performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 8 or more years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Deltek Costpoint experience.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and must possess and maintain a Final Secret Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior Manufacturing Manager experience.
  • Solumina Manufacturing Execution experience.
