About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer at GAL Aerostaff is responsible for performing regular daily assignments, engaging in individual project assignments, and participating on project teams aimed at addressing various organizational issues. This role involves studying problems, preparing recommendations, and implementing solutions to enhance performance, decision-making, and problem-solving in production, quality, safety, and cost containment. The engineer will work on diverse projects, including job evaluation, product development, work simplification, facilities layout, equipment capacity, material handling, and manpower optimization. In this position, the engineer will gather information from multiple sources, analyze problems by breaking them down into component parts, and recommend solutions using advanced analytical techniques from disciplines such as mathematics, science, and engineering. The role requires preparing written reports for management that outline solutions or a range of alternatives ranked by desirability and probability of success. The engineer will also assess the implications of various courses of action to provide a solid basis for management decisions. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer will coordinate policies and practices to improve divisional operating performance, reduce waste and delays, and promote cost reduction. Responsibilities include performing engineering assignments related to work measurements, planning and overseeing work study and training programs, conducting logical analyses of management problems, and developing and maintaining standard operating procedures. The engineer will also assist in maintaining quality standards, perform time and motion studies, and work closely with senior managers to identify and resolve various issues while supporting management's performance improvement initiatives. The role requires scheduling work to meet completion dates and technical specifications, training personnel at the divisional and departmental levels, and analyzing organizational operations to understand the principles governing relationships within the business. The Manufacturing Engineer will recommend and initiate projects that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Serve on project teams to study and address various issues related to production, quality, safety, and cost containment.
  • Gather information from various sources, analyze problems, and recommend solutions using advanced analytical techniques.
  • Prepare written reports for management indicating solutions or alternatives ranked by desirability and probability of success.
  • Coordinate policies and practices to improve divisional operating performance and reduce waste and delays.
  • Perform engineering assignments related to work measurements for establishing standards.
  • Plan and oversee work study and training programs to promote efficient manpower utilization.
  • Conduct logical analysis of management problems and information requirements for solutions by computer.
  • Conduct organizational studies and assist with cost control programs and standards.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining quality standards and participate in audit or project teams.
  • Perform time and motion studies and other engineering studies.
  • Work closely with senior managers to identify and solve problems and support performance improvement initiatives.
  • Schedule work to meet completion dates and technical specifications.
  • Assist in training personnel at the divisional and departmental level.
  • Analyze organization and operations to understand basic principles governing relationships within the business.
  • Recommend and initiate projects to improve business operations.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering, Industrial, Mechanical, or Engineering Technology; MBA is a plus.
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office, Auto CAD, and Solidworks.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills with the ability to think ahead and plan over a 3-6 month time span.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
