About the position

Tiffany & Co. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for New Product Integration to join our team in Cumberland, RI. This permanent position is integral to our manufacturing facility, where we craft unique jewelry products. The New Product Engineer will play a crucial role in establishing robust and repeatable manufacturing specifications for all new designs throughout their development lifecycle. This position requires collaboration with NPI Project Leads, who manage project timelines and oversee the development process. The New Product Engineer will be responsible for providing initial route recommendations and manufacturing offsets while verifying calculations for all processes. This role is essential in ensuring that Hard Prototypes and Production Test Runs align with the critical requirements outlined in the JDIW-supplied CRD documentation. In this role, you will be expected to work safely at all times, adhering to all safety procedures and reporting any incidents or safety issues promptly. You will support the NPI Development Process for new product development and dual-sourcing projects, leading the engineering phases during development and supporting Process Engineering during the launch phase. Additionally, you will create product-specific work instructions in collaboration with manufacturing and process engineering teams, maintaining overall engineering plans for each new product or project. Your ability to facilitate cross-department collaboration will be vital, as you will work with various stakeholders, including CAD/CAM, Quality Departments, Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Finance, and the JDIW, to ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Establish robust and repeatable manufacturing specifications for new designs throughout their development lifecycle.
  • Work alongside NPI Project Leads to manage project timelines and oversee development processes.
  • Provide initial route recommendations and manufacturing offsets while verifying calculations for all processes.
  • Support the NPI Development Process for new product development and dual-sourcing projects.
  • Lead the engineering phases during development and support Process Engineering during launch.
  • Create product-specific work instructions in collaboration with manufacturing and process engineering teams.
  • Maintain overall engineering plans for each new product/project.
  • Facilitate cross-department collaboration between team members and various stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or five years of related experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Proficiency or comfort with CAD software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, and OneNote).

Nice-to-haves

  • Multilingual (Spanish).
  • Knowledge of modern jewelry manufacturing techniques.
  • Understanding of basic statistical tools; Minitab is preferable.
  • Six Sigma Certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
