About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer at PB Fasteners is responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes to achieve performance goals related to safety, quality, throughput, and productivity. This role involves significant time spent on the production floor, focusing on process improvements and collaboration with various departments to maximize productivity and minimize costs while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes to achieve performance goals in safety, quality, throughput, and productivity.
  • Identify and implement process improvements using statistical analysis and Lean/Six Sigma tools.
  • Assemble teams to determine root causes of failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, planning, maintenance, and purchasing leaders to maximize productivity.
  • Establish inspection criteria, tooling, and fixtures to meet customer requirements.
  • Develop standard work instructions to improve safety and productivity.
  • Aid in capital improvement projects for cost savings and throughput improvement.
  • Ensure accurate manufacturing costs and process routings with finance and materials management.
  • Train employees on production procedures and practices.
  • Work with suppliers to improve process reliability and reduce costs.
  • Provide manufacturing expertise to resolve problems as they arise.
  • Stay updated on technological advancements that may impact production.
  • Maintain system documentation for processes and procedures.
  • Support MRB activities as directed.
  • Promote a culture of safety to ensure zero safety-related incidents.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1 year of machining experience, preferably in Aerospace or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies; Black Belt or Lean/Six Sigma Certification preferred.
  • Understanding of total quality management systems and tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CAD/CAM, Testing, Forging, and Heat Treat processes.
  • Familiarity with ERP software and manufacturing routings.
