About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer - Rapid Response Team at Caterpillar, Inc. is a key role focused on executing continuous improvement projects across various manufacturing facilities. This position emphasizes safety, automation, and the replication of best practices, ensuring compliance with quality and environmental standards. The engineer will provide hands-on support and guidance, leading initiatives that enhance production efficiency and safety across the RIOP network.

Responsibilities

• Identifying, replicating, and continually improving operating methods, equipment, systems, and infrastructure to achieve operational goals.
• Providing hands-on expertise to RIOP facilities in the implementation of continuous improvement projects.
• Conducting safety inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and promoting workplace safety among employees.
• Designing and implementing emergency response processes and procedures.
• Developing best practices documentation for all major activities and tasks in manufacturing processes.
• Training others on major tasks and considerations for the full manufacturing process.
• Participating in measuring and monitoring new processes and technologies.

Requirements

• Engineering Degree or equivalent experience desired.
• Degree or certification in automation/automation integration, ergonomics, crane/lifting practices, or industrial safety is also considered.
• Experience in manufacturing safety and compliance with OSHA requirements.
• Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with manufacturing equipment and standard diagnostic tools.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and methodologies.
