At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! We are looking for Manufacturing Engineers to join us on building the road to space. In this role, you will be responsible for providing manufacturing definition in support of Blue Origin's New Glenn derivatives initiatives. This role will follow the product from early concept development, through design reviews, and into production. Tasks will include creating build & flow documents, identifying required production tools, creating manufacturing BOMs, authoring work instructions, determining build schedules, and introducing first articles builds to the production floor. You will work in a cross-functional team role with tooling engineering, facilities engineering, and project management functions. Responsibilities will include creating build & flow artifacts including items like build plan, duration estimates, index plan, condition of assembly, and PFMEAs. You will perform trades with vehicle level and subsystem design teams to better enable fabrication and integration of composite parts. Additionally, you will lead development efforts to optimize the current build plan to reduce critical path durations and follow the build onto the floor, acting as the technical point of contact during build execution. You will also be responsible for standing up the work center that the vehicle will be produced in by identifying and procuring required tools, providing facility requirements for space or utilities, and organizing the overall work area.
