About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer position at Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems involves supporting the manufacturing team in a fast-paced production environment. The role focuses on providing technical support, leading process improvements, and engaging in digital transformation initiatives. The engineer will coordinate across functions to achieve business goals and support non-recurring projects throughout their lifecycle, from design to production.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing team in a fast-paced production environment
• Provide technical support and leadership for manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvements
• Lead process improvement and digital transformation initiatives
• Identify root causes and corrective actions for technical production problems
• Engage in proposals and cost estimates
• Coordinate across functions and programs to achieve business goals
• Support and lead non-recurring projects through the entire lifecycle from design and prototype through production

Requirements

• Experienced Manufacturing Engineer with knowledge of industry standards and best practices of manufacturing processes
• Strong organizational skills and verbal & written communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership or project management skills
• Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Nice-to-haves

• Demonstrated knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles / flow, 6S, and continuous improvement
• Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
• Demonstrated technical writing and presentation skills
• Experience supporting cost estimates (e.g. proposal inputs, savings estimates)
• Experience with Production systems (EPDM, SAP, Solumina)
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes for radar assembly, electronic assemblies, microelectronics, or launcher production
