About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer - Service at Johnson & Johnson's Medical Devices Family of Companies is responsible for supporting service centers in the U.S. and assisting with product expansion plans internationally. This role involves developing and improving processes, addressing quality issues, and collaborating with various teams to ensure efficient service operations. The engineer will work closely with senior engineers and contribute to documentation and training materials related to service and repair processes.

Responsibilities

  • Drive process and quality improvements in Service Center operations using Process Excellence tools.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to ensure cost-efficient service operations during product development.
  • Develop solving guides, training instructions, manuals, and documentation for service and repair of equipment.
  • Support hardware and software design changes and manage change order processing throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Conduct process mapping, analysis, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate activities with internal and external customers, including setting meetings and following up on action items.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Biomedical, or a similar technical degree, preferably in mechanical, electrical, or biomedical engineering.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience applying basic technical principles to a broad range of assignments.
  • Experience writing formal technical processes and procedures.
  • Ability to plan, conduct, record, and serve as project administrator under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Ability to be based in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
  • Ability to support up to 20% travel domestically.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of new product introduction and capital equipment.
  • At least 3 years of experience working within a regulated industry.
  • Experience in service, R&D, manufacturing, or quality.
  • Experience in the medical device industry.
  • Experience solving technical manufacturing issues.
