A-dec is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support, improve, and grow the Machining and Part Fabrication capabilities of our vertically-integrated dental equipment operations. In this role, you will be engaged in the implementation of strategic product development, which includes design reviews, design for manufacturability (DFM), quoting, and make/buy decisions. You will also be involved in continual process improvement and manufacturing capability advancement projects. Leveraging your experience and training, you will support a production operation characterized as 'mid-volume, mid-mix' with varied manufacturing capabilities, emphasizing sheet metal laser/punch, steel tubing, press brakes, metal finishing, chemical treatment, powder coating, and a large complement of secondary processes such as parts washing, surface finishing, and inspection. Process support will likely also include multi-axis and multi-spindle lathes, machine tending robots, and robotic welding. In this position, you will perform, plan, and organize complicated and difficult manufacturing engineering assignments aimed at improving existing processes and introducing new manufacturing products and processes. You will be responsible for developing and managing manufacturing engineering project schedules, deliverables, and goals to support manufacturing and corporate objectives. Leading cross-departmental project teams, you will provide direction and mentor other manufacturing engineers and technicians. Additionally, you will provide complex problem-solving and technical support in the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of manufacturing processes and new products. You will oversee the development of production and process control information, prepare technical analyses, and recommend manufacturing methods and processes required to meet design objectives on new or improved products and/or processes.
