The Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor at Mueller Water Products is a pivotal role focused on developing, defining, and implementing new technologies and improvements to manufacturing processes. In this role, the supervisor will be responsible for improving existing machining processes to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness. They will take an active leadership role in troubleshooting and conducting root cause analysis of operational issues, particularly those related to key performance indicators (KPIs). The supervisor will also oversee the implementation of new technologies as part of capital projects, ensuring that these projects are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with project goals. The position requires evaluating manufacturing processes by leveraging knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials. This includes collaborating with vendors and gathering insights from plant operators. The Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor will work closely with the operational team to address day-to-day challenges and drive improvements. They will play a crucial role in New Product Development (NPD) activities, leading the planning and execution of capital equipment, tooling, and processes. Furthermore, the supervisor will focus on improving manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflows, space requirements, and equipment layouts. They will provide directional recommendations based on production cost evaluations, scheduling practices, and future requirements estimation. Supporting departmental equipment will also be a key responsibility, which includes coordinating maintenance and repair services, establishing preventative maintenance plans, and identifying critical spare parts. Compliance with all regulatory bodies and maintaining safety and quality as top priorities will be essential in fulfilling the duties of this position.
