Carnes Company is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Verona, WI. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement. You will apply your knowledge of product design and assembly to enhance our manufacturing processes, ensuring that we meet our budgetary, performance, and efficiency goals. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with the Product Engineering team to design and develop new products, while also communicating effectively with production staff, supervisors, and sales teams to align with company objectives. Your innovative thinking will be crucial as you devise new solutions to existing manufacturing challenges and apply lean manufacturing tools and techniques. You will also be tasked with specifying new machines and tooling to improve processes, successfully implementing cost-saving projects, and determining the root causes of defects and failures to ensure high-quality production standards.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes
  • Apply working knowledge of product design and assembly to the manufacturing process
  • Create/update processes and procedures to help the company meet budgetary, performance, and efficiency goals
  • Design and develop new products alongside the Product Engineering team
  • Communicate effectively with production, supervisors, design teams, and sales staff to ensure alignment with company goals
  • Devise new solutions to existing manufacturing problems
  • Apply lean manufacturing tools and techniques
  • Specify new machines and tooling to improve processes
  • Successfully implement cost saving projects
  • Determine and correct root causes of defects and failures

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience with CAD programs a plus
  • Experience with metal fabrication a plus
