The Manufacturing Engineer, Associate position at Curtiss-Wright involves assisting with various routine analyses, design, and assembly related to manufacturing projects under close supervision. The role requires the individual to assist in the development and implementation of methods, operation sequences, and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. The Manufacturing Engineer will interface with design engineering to coordinate the release of new products, estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements for both new and existing product lines. Additionally, the engineer will maintain records and reporting systems to ensure effective coordination of manufacturing operations. Key responsibilities include establishing manufacturing process flows and work instructions, creating and updating manufacturing standard procedures that define specific manufacturing processes. The engineer may perform routine operational or methods analyses related to labor standards and review product/project flow data, equipment, and labor requirements to enhance productivity and reduce production unit costs. The role also involves evaluating engineering changes and specifications, acting as a technical liaison with other engineering personnel, and managing CNC program files for revision control and security. The engineer will program machine tools utilizing 3D models and CNC languages, perform first-time program proveouts, and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing concepts. The Manufacturing Engineer will provide shop support for assigned projects, including training and mentoring shop personnel, identifying new or improved processes to reduce rework, cycle time, and costs, and participating in Kaizen events, process mapping, and project readiness reviews. Proficiency in software specific to the role, such as MS Office, TeamCenter, Oracle, and CAD (preferably NX), is essential. The engineer will also be responsible for developing quotations for assigned products.
