About the position

Eaton's Power Distribution Control & Assemblies division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. This role is located out of Greenwood, SC, and relocation assistance will be provided. The expected annual salary range for this role is $65,250 - $95,700 a year, and this position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for providing a broad range of professional continuous improvement support to manufacturing operations and plant facility maintenance. This includes providing project responsibility for the execution of complex projects and project assignments within the Operational Excellence department. The role also involves developing more complex engineering and process control documentation for manufacturing needs and providing coordination and technical guidance to production personnel as appropriate. Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication and assembly processes, tooling and fixturing design and applications
  • Develop and implement improvements to manufacturing and its procedures and processes through improved layout and material handling procedures
  • Train factory operators in the use of equipment, tooling and procedures
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee changes and upgrades to the manufacturing facility
  • Lead events such as Shop Floor and Rapid Improvement Events to achieve factory cost-out target in your support area
  • Determine optimal manufacturing methods to produce parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies for new products or customer orders requiring extensive planning consistent with overall division objectives
  • Conduct a line capacity analysis and lead labor productivity improvement initiatives to achieve the business objective
  • Specify, design, quote, install, debug, and maintain equipment for use in manufacturing
  • Support Eaton's digitization initiatives with the implementation of manufacturing execution systems (MES) in shop floor, electronic data presentation, Industry 4.0 and automation
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, and Pro Launch through the creation of Process Maps, Standard Work, Takt Times, Potential Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design of Experiments, Control Plans, and Job Safety Analysis for production lines
  • Support other key plant processes and provide cross-functional support as directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution (December 2024 graduates eligible to apply)
  • Must be able to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and within the future

Nice-to-haves

  • One (1) year of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment
  • Training and experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Tools
  • Prior experience with AutoCAD/Inventor
