About the position

Webasto is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to help support our rapidly growing Charging Division. The role involves assisting in production preparation activities in the EU and MX, ensuring that manufacturing processes are cost-effective and produce quality products. The engineer will follow systems that adhere to Webasto standards related to manufacturing and assembly equipment, tooling, inspection, and production processes. Additionally, the position provides technical and administrative support to the Product Development Team (PDT) to meet customer and company quality standards. Responsibilities also include publishing and maintaining procedures for operator functions, preparing RFQ packages for equipment/tooling, and completing the Production Preparation Process (3P) workshop, along with plant expense calculations and capital requests. The engineer will also set up prototype equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the production preparation activity for Webasto in EU / MX as required.
  • Follow manufacturing processes which allow cost effective, quality products to be built (e.g. Process Flow, PFMEA, Manufacturing Plans, Cost Tables for tooling and components).
  • Follow systems that adhere to the Webasto standards related to Manufacturing & Assembly Equipment, Tooling, Inspection and production Processes.
  • Provide technical and administrative support to the Product Development Team (PDT) to ensure customer and company quality standards are achieved.
  • Publish and maintain all applicable procedures for all operator functions.
  • Prepare RFQ packages for equipment/tooling and review quotations for assembly and production.
  • Complete 3P (Production Preparation Process) workshop, plant expense calculations, Capital Request.
  • Setup prototype equipment and process.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering and/or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • 2 Years of engineering related experience in an Automotive Manufacturing environment, with experience being a series manufacturing engineer preferred.
  • Knowledge of Automotive Quality Standards, (TS 16949 and ISO 14001) preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, AutoCAD, MiniTab preferred.
  • Solid record of accomplishments/achievements throughout employment career.
  • Work performed in manufacturing environment and requires strict adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge in the application of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DOE, 5S, Poka-yoke.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ford Capacity Analysis CAR 5.6 certified preferred.
  • General Motors Workbook knowledge preferred.
  • Knowledge of GD&T preferred.
