About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer at Actalent is responsible for designing new products, providing engineering support for existing products, and developing components for application to both new and existing products. This role involves reducing costs for existing designs and supporting production products and technical assignments that contribute to larger projects. The engineer will utilize various machining techniques and automation technologies to ensure that products meet established design standards and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Support existing production products and technical assignments that support larger projects.
  • Select techniques to solve problems and make sound process and programming recommendations.
  • Use vertical and horizontal machines and lathes to assess results to meet established design standards and customer specifications.
  • Develop and apply automation technology systems, vision systems, and laser QR etching.
  • Develop and support quality inspections.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor degree or technical school degree in engineering related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read and write G and M code along with a solid understanding of GD&T.
  • Experience with Autodesk CAD/CAM software with NX CAM a plus.
  • CNC programming and CMM programming.
  • Quality experience - gauge selection and gauge planning experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with pneumatics/hydraulics.
  • CAD skills: 2D & 3D.
  • Manufacturing engineering, quality improvement, industrial manufacturing experience.
  • Self-motivated with a mindset to find answers independently.
  • Driven and eager for new challenges and knowledge.
