About the position

Hartzell Aviation is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to support all aspects of manufacturing at AMI and AWI. This role involves estimating manufacturing costs, developing processes for new products, and improving existing product orders. The Manufacturing Engineer will also assist in quality engineering functions to facilitate new product introductions.

Responsibilities

• Estimate time costs for manufacturing.
• Review customer specifications and drawings to determine manufacturing requirements including sub-contracting.
• Estimate and design welding and manufacturing tooling and fixtures.
• Develop shop floor routings and choose subcontractors to fulfill manufacturing requirements.
• Create internal drawings.
• Work with shop floor employees to resolve manufacturing challenges and develop efficient processes.
• Write work instructions and internal processes.
• Consult with customers and manage new product development, including timelines.
• Work with suppliers to meet customer needs.
• Develop quality control plans to ensure part conformity.
• Support quality engineers with programming of CMM equipment for new product introduction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
• A minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to plan and coordinate resources for technical projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Solidworks, and ERP Systems (Epicor Vista preferred).
• Machine operating experience.
• Programming of CNC machining and bending equipment.
