About The Position

Eaton's Electrical division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Richmond, VA. Relocation assistance will be provided within the US. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for creating cycles of improvement throughout the organization by leading capital deployment, continuous improvement / cost-out projects, and other operations excellence initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited educational institution
  • 1 years' experience or internship in an engineering function
  • AutoCAD system experience
  • Must be able to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and within the future

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years' experience in manufacturing engineering in a high mix / low volume manufacturing environment
  • Advanced degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Experience with MRP systems (SAP)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Knowledge and experience with computers

Responsibilities

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing concepts and Lean tools throughout the enterprise, including Value Stream Mapping, structured problem solving, root cause analysis, 5s+, work instructions, etc.
  • Evaluate, analyze and improve operations and engineering processes using fundamentally sound manufacturing principles to ensure excellence in safety, efficiency, productivity, cost reduction and quality.
  • Initiate, develop and lead capital improvement projects including manufacturing equipment, facility enhancements and new product start-ups.
  • Foster a continuous improvement culture throughout the business by creating, leading and communicating opportunities for quality, productivity, flow and safety improvement.
  • Support new product development with manufacturing feasibility and industrialization activities including production layout, materials and costing for new products.
  • Other duties as assigned
