About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer at Emerson will play a crucial role in designing and developing advanced tooling and equipment for a high-tech production facility. This position involves standardizing manufacturing practices, supporting CNC programming, and mentoring talent while collaborating on new product development. The engineer will utilize their expertise to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement effective solutions, ensuring efficient and safe production processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced tooling and equipment using 3D CAD software.
• Standardize and document manufacturing best practices and workflows.
• Support CNC programming and advise on tooling selection.
• Investigate and troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues using structured methodologies.
• Mentor and develop tool design co-op students through hands-on projects and training.
• Collaborate with Product Engineers and cross-functional teams on new product development.

Requirements

• BS or BEng in a manufacturing related field.
• 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in a related industry.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing, machining processes, welding, and mechanical assembly.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with experience in analyzing complex technical issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solidworks, AutoCAD).
• Basic knowledge of Statics and Strengths of Materials.

Nice-to-haves

• Professional experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge.
• Knowledge of functional gauging and measuring instruments.
• Understanding of material properties and stress-strain analysis to supplement FEA via SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
