About the position

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, TX. This role is pivotal in supporting the production activities for the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System Extended Range (GMLRS ER). The responsibilities encompass leading production line validations, conducting supplier visits, providing internal manufacturing shop support, managing earned value, supporting proposals, and overseeing tooling and design reviews for producibility. The position also involves various program-related production activities, ensuring that hardware and tooling for MFC Dallas Mechanical hardware and Supply Chain are adequately supported. The engineer will be responsible for production line validations, engineering release reviews for new and revised design requirements, and managing Make or Buy coordination. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline and have experience with manufacturing, assembly, and production processes. The role requires the ability to obtain or currently possess a Secret Clearance, as well as the capability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment. Candidates should have experience interpreting drawings, Computer Aided Design (CAD) models, and product/performance specifications, along with the ability to liaise effectively between Lockheed Martin subcontractors, internal disciplines, and production operations. The position may require domestic and/or international travel, and strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. The engineer will also need to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration, and possess the ability to analyze and resolve technical/process issues of varying complexity. Proficiency in MS Office tools is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Support production activities for Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System Extended Range (GMLRS ER).
  • Lead production line validations and conduct supplier visits.
  • Provide internal manufacturing shop support and manage earned value.
  • Assist in proposal support and tooling management.
  • Conduct design reviews for producibility and manage Make or Buy coordination.
  • Interpret drawings, CAD models, and product/performance specifications.
  • Liaise between Lockheed Martin subcontractors and internal disciplines.
  • Travel domestically and/or internationally as required.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to various stakeholders.
  • Analyze and resolve technical/process issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline.
  • Experience with manufacturing, assembly, and production processes.
  • Ability to obtain or currently possess a Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Experience interpreting drawings and CAD models.
  • Ability to liaise between subcontractors and internal disciplines.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, including technical writing and presentations.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration.

  • Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
